Battersea Park Wedding Photographer

Top tips to get the best out of your Battersea Park Wedding photographs.

I am fortunate enough to be a recommended wedding photographer for weddings in Battersea Park. As well as photographing weddings, I’ve photographed their “Summer in Battersea Park” events for many years so spend a large chunk of my summer in and around the park.

I may be biased, but I definitely think Battersea Park is the best park in London. As beautiful and varied as better known parks such as Hyde and Regents Park, but with a much more “local” feel. Combining grand and fun with its famous victorian bandstand,  fountains and lakes as well as its lesser known mini-golf and go-ape. It has Cafe’s, a children’s zoo,  hidden gardens and everything in between. But a wedding venue?

Battersea Park Wedding Ceremonies & Receptions

Currently you can have your ceremony in two places, the Bandstand (weather permitting) or the Pump House Gallery. This may change with the changes in outdoor ceremony laws, but for now these are the two park options.

As for receptions, the Pump House is great for intimate affairs, with the option to add a marquee onto its patio area out to the front. A stones throw away is the Bowling Green, ready for your teepee or marquee dreams to come true.

Although you’re having your wedding in a bustling public park, the bowling green hedgerows provide a barrier between you and the dog walkers. (Though if you happen to take a stroll around for photos, they may want to say hello!)

Group Photos & Wedding Portraits

With the bandstand and spots by the lake nearby, family portraits are easy to organise without anyone getting lost (and the bandstand makes for a great weatherproof spot for portraits too. On the subject of portraits, the team are more than happy to drive you about on their buggies making it easy to stop off just outside the western park entrance to take some snaps on the beautiful Albert Bridge.

I like to meander back with couples taking in the grand boulevard and the secret English Garden. Lakes, pedalos, tropical plants - there’s no shortage of variety at any time of the year.

The fact it is a public park means they are sometimes more limited on dates available, so it is really important to enquire as early as possible.

You can find more information about the venue on their website.
